Should I go with Natural or Stain?
With so many beautiful options out there, it can be tough to decide which route to go with your floors.
In general, light and natural floors have been more popular than dark colors. They tend to flow best with other woods and colors in your home. Also, the darker a floor is, the more dust and scratches you will notice.
We can help you decide based on a few factors. Each species of wood accepts stain differently; you may or may not enjoy the look of your species with stain. However, if your floors have discolorations, it may be best to stain them to “even them out.”
In any scenario, we are happy to put down sample swatches directly on your floor for you to decide which works best in your space.
Duraseal Stain Colors
Duraseal is a commercial-grade stain and finish manufacturer that has been used by wood flooring professionals for a very long time.
In addition to the gallery below, you can find pictures online to help give you ideas. Simply Google:
“Duraseal [stain color] on [your wood species]”
For instance, if you have Red Oak floors and would like to see what Silvered Grey looks like on them, you would type in “Duraseal Silvered Grey on Red Oak.”
Generally, you will find several pictures to help give you a feel for what the color looks like across the floor. Once you narrow it down to 3 choices, we will apply those samples to your floor.

WOCA Diamond Oil Colors
WOCA is our penetrating oil of choice. They are headquartered in Denmark and their products have been used to color and protect wood floors in Europe since the 1960’s. With Zero VOC content and a natural look and feel, they are gaining immense popularity in the US.
Both Jordan and Ryan have been to multiple WOCA Craftsman School events at NWFA sponsored events, so we are very familiar with the product and application process. Together, we have “WOCA’d” over 100 floors, so you are in good hands!
We generally only use the WOCA Diamond Oil line as it is their highest quality, hardest option. Master and Colour Oil options available upon request.
